SANDSTONE FARM
Nestled in the rolling hills of the Kamberg Valley, sits the magnificent Sandstone Farm. Views of Giants Castle in the Drakensberg mountains provide a feast for the eyes as the afternoon sun warms your body and soul.
Owners Sue and Graham Armstrong take great pride in welcoming guests to Sandstone and delight in sharing their lifelong experiences in these surroundings. Graham has been involved in farming all his life. Since his semi-retirement from intensive farming, he has immersed his time in water related issues, community projects and agricultural transformation. He has an affinity for animals, especially horses. His long and successful polo career (he played for the Springbok polo side in his time) took him on travels around the world .During his many years as President of the South African Polo Association he met many influential people , including The Queen of England on two occasions.
Sue generously shares her love of gardening and horses with guests. She was a successful thoroughbred breeder and owner. Sandstone is now the retirement home for a number of famous racehorses, polo ponies and show jumpers. Her knowledge and passion for the Midlands led to her becoming a qualified tour guide, now retired. The Armstrongs also owned and ran the well known Engeleni Lodge for a number of years.
One thing for sure ,you will receive a warm and friendly welcome to Sandstone Cottage and the cosy Garden Loft . One can simply relax and breathe in the tranquility of the surroundings or choose to throw a line on one of the pristine trout dams and enjoy the many other activities available.
